PRENATAL & POSTNATAL CLASSES
I have been offering prenatal and postnatal classes in the Seattle yoga community for over 10 years. A mama myself, and personally very familiar with just how much a yoga practice can help strengthen the body during pregnancy, how beneficial it was during labor, and how postpartum it is a tool to connect with the body, calm the mind and helped me to be strong and healthy as a parent to my daughter. I have attended many births as a doula, and have had the humbling opportunity to witness and support mamas in childbirth in a variety of settings, from home births, to birth centers, to hospital births.
I offer classes that are both challenging and relaxing, and mindful of the special needs of pregnant and postpartum bodies. Classes are safe and provide a the opportunity to connect with a community of others and explore the changing body through yoga during this very special time. Classes will address specific issues impacting the changing body during pregnancy, and breath practices and meditations will provide a safe place to explore connection with baby and preparation for labor. Postnatal classes focus on safely rebuilding the core and addressing the common aches and pains that come from holding babies.
