SOUND BATHS

I have been studying the healing properties of sound for over 15 years. I began my training in sound healing in a modality called Acutonics. Acutonics involves applying tuning forks to acupuncture points. In seeking out a way to work with groups of people rather than one-on-one clients, I began working with crystal singing bowls.

In 2010, I started offering sound baths in Seattle. At that time I was one of the only people leading sound baths and my years of experience are evident in the experience you'll have when you join me for one. The sound baths I offer are a deeply rejuvenating experience of sound and vibration. My sound. baths offer a deep level of healing and relaxation and are accessible to those exploring sound baths for the first time, but offer depth to those who have attended sound baths previously. 

This practice uses the power of sound and vibration to help the body and nervous system relax, much like a massage might do, and students often report that following a sound bath they feel clearer, calmer and sometimes report decreases in physical body pain and often a better night’s sleep. The evening will close with a silent meditation to help bring balance to the system after the experience of so much sound and also allow time for personal reflection and exploration.

"The vibrations of sound tend to have a very significant impact on all the areas of the body reached by this nerve by resonating very close to it in the eardrums. In addition to that, the majority of cranial nerves are either directly or indirectly connected with the ear.
This is one of the reasons why the use of Sound Therapy instruments such as tuning forks and Tibetan singing bowls can be so instantly calming and relaxing, helping the body to come back to the nourishing state that is the opposite of the “fight or flight” mode triggered by stress."
