GROW AS A PRENATAL/POSTNATAL YOGA TEACHER

I have been offering prenatal and postnatal classes in the Seattle yoga community for over 10 years. I am a Yoga Alliance 500hr-RYT and RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher) with over 6,000 hours of teaching experience. I am also the lead faculty member of the 8 Limbs Pre/Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training and teach workshops for teachers and mentor teachers throughout the US.

My passion for teaching yoga teachers to support folks during the perinatal period stems from my own experiences as a pregnant student, finding little support for my changing body during pregnancy and postpartum in regular yoga classes, and from witnessing over the years the profound impact yoga has for pregnant and postpartum students. My hope is to create accessibility for pregnant and postpartum folks to find the support they need in their local yoga communities and to experience the benefit that yoga can offer in addressing the aches and pains common in these periods and the stress relief and nervous system support that all pregnant folks and new parents need.

Yoga for Pregnancy, Birth & Postpartum
January 27-29th, 2023
This 15-hour training is perfect for anyone currently pregnant, those who work to support pregnant, birthing and postpartum clients, and yoga teachers looking to better support their students!
This 3-day module will include the following:
  • An overview of the pregnant and postpartum body, including the anatomical, physical and emotional changes that a pregnant person may experience
  • Yoga poses to address the common aches and pains of pregnancy
  • How to modify poses safely for pregnant and postpartum bodies
  • Specific awareness of sequencing and poses that are unsafe or can potentially create more pain/discomfort during pregnancy and postpartum
  • A brief introduction to labor and childbirth and the ways in which yoga can support the laboring person
  • An overview of the changes to the core during pregnancy and how to begin healing and building strength in the core postpartum
  • Yoga for common postpartum aches and pains
  • The opportunity to practice teaching and receive feedback
